How We Began

Magenta-fell was born from a simple realisation: many of us spend years dreaming of faraway destinations while overlooking the extraordinary beauty on our doorstep. In 2014, a group of historians, naturalists, and seasoned travellers came together with a shared mission.

We wanted to create journeys that felt like coming home to a place you have never been. Tours that moved slowly enough to notice the light changing over ancient standing stones, to taste bread still warm from a village bakery, to hear stories that have passed through generations.

From our first guided walk through the Yorkshire Dales to our current portfolio spanning all corners of the British Isles, we remain committed to that founding vision: travel that connects, reveals, and transforms.

Our Approach

Each tour begins months before departure. We scout every route personally, testing accommodations, meeting local hosts, and timing visits to coincide with seasonal highlights—wildflower meadows in June, apple harvests in September, starling murmurations in winter.

We believe the journey matters as much as the destination. That is why our itineraries include unexpected detours: a farm gate conversation, a chapel hidden down a lane, a viewpoint known only to shepherds. These moments cannot be planned, but we create the conditions for them to happen.
